Engine 511 responds to 466 Park Ave. in Deptford for a dwelling fire. Crews from 9-1,9-2,9-3, 9-4 and 5-1 responded to a dwelling fire , all hands working. First arriving engine reported smoke from all divisions with heavy fire in the basement. Crews quickly went into service with multiple 1 3/4” lines to attempt to extinguish to fire. The fire in the basement had weakened the floor and the evacuation order was given and all crew went into a defensive attack with 2 1/2” blitz fire nozzles. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Ladder 516 and Engine 511 responds to St. Stephens Church for a building. The fire was extinguished upon arrival but a heavy smoke condition still existed. Crews went into service with both positive pressure and negative pressure fans to clear the condition. Crews were in service for about 1 hr. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Ladder 516 and Engine 511 responds to Federal St. and Broad St. in the Post Office parking lot for a vehicle fire. Crews quickly went into service with 1 3/4” line to extinguish the fire. All damage was contained to the engine compartment. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

We are pleases to announce that both of our probationary firefighter completed the Firefighter I program at the Gloucester County Fire Academy. Their formal graduation was held on January 15, 2009 at the Gloucester County College . Congratulations FF Brown and FF Lynch. In addition special congratulation goes to FF Lynch on receiving the Vernon Evans Award. We’ll see you on the fire grounds!

Ladder 516 and Engine 511 responds to Tatum St. for a dwelling fire. Additional crews from District 9 and District 6 responded. Crews quickly went into service with several 1 3/4” lines and extinguished the fire with minimum damage to the structure. Crews were in-service for about 2 hours. Cause of the fire is still under investigation.
